My four year old experienced a bit of dry eyes this early fall. She was a bit dramatic about it and would often claim she was “blind” at bedtime. My husband or I would give her a cool washcloth to appease her very mild symptoms but very large complaints about it all.
One night, the stall tactic of being “blind” escalated so my husband decided to give her a kid gel ice pack. The next morning when I woke her, I noticed the ice pack and red spot on her cheek. Initially, I thought it was just irritation from the plastic ice pack. However, as the morning went on, the red spot became more prominent and inflamed.
